2020 NBA Draft Withdrawal Date news and notes

All American Center Luka Garza will return for his final year of eligibility at Iowa. Garza makes Iowa a frontrunner in the Big Ten title race and a national championship contender next March. The big man was a double-double machine for the Hawkeyes, as Garza averaged 23.9 PPG, and 10.8 RPG.

Baylor Guard Jared Butler announced his intentions to stay at Baylor. Butler averaged 16 PPG, 3 RPG, and 3 APG last season in Waco.

Arizona State Guard Remy Martin will return to school for his senior year, the school announced Sunday evening. Martin’s return solidifies a team that many think can compete for a Pac-12 championship in 2020-2021. Martin averaged 19.1 PPG, and 4.1 APG in his junior season.

Michigan State Forward Xavier Tillman is keeping his name in the 2020 NBA Draft. The Big Ten second team big man averaged 13.7 PPG and 10.3 RPG last season. Michigan State Guard Aaron Henry will return to school, though.

Virginia forward Jay Huff has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return to Charlottesville for his senior year. Huff was an excellent defensive piece in the Cavalier’s system who averaged 8.5 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 2 BPG.

This next week will be the final week of this blog “regime”

The posts next Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will be final three posts before I make changes to the blog before my freshman year which begins Wednesday August 19. The post announcing the changes will be made Saturday August 15 at 2 PM CT, and a post schedule for the entire school year a day later on Sunday August 16 at 2 PM CT. The week of August 10-14 I will take a break to make finalizations to my new blog regime and to get ready for the school year. But if you want a preview of next Friday’s post here you go:

What if there was a Friday Night Lights Season 6?

In Dillon, change is minimal. But without Coach Taylor and his wife Tami, it seems like Dillon’s world was flipped upside down. Vince Howard is praised as Dillon’s top prospect since “Smash” Williams and best QB recruit since Jason Street. The Dillon boosters name Mac as the new head coach of the newly formed “super team” and he announces it will be his final season of coaching. Coach Taylor adjusts to life coaching high school football in Pennsylvania and Tami tries to get into the inner circle of faulty at Braemore College. Also in this season Matt and Julie make plans for their wedding, Tim and Matt buy tickets to watch Smash play at Texas A&M, Buddy Garrity is given the “chair at the head of the table” again and is named Dillon’s lead booster, and Tim and Tyra grow even closer. In depth looks at Dillon and East Dillon alumni make up a big part of this season as fans take a glance at life after high school and Dillon. At the end of the season, Vince Howard is tasked with making the biggest decision of his life, picking a college. Every college under the sun has offered a scholarship to the QB, but it feels like it is only making the decision harder. In the Panther’s first season without Coach Taylor, ups and downs are what characterize the season. That and more in the final season of Friday Night Lights.

Ranking my favorite sports-related shows

Requirements for this list
1.The show does not have to be all about sports. It can have sports as the main focus or off to the side.
2.It can be fictional or nonfiction.
3.This list is supposed to be fun, so let’s get into it.

1.Friday Night Lights
Nothing can beat it. Nothing. The realism of small town Texas football on Friday nights makes many feel like this is the greatest show ever. Coach Eric Taylor and Tami Taylor are one of if not the top tv couples ever. Enough said.

2.All American
Despite it being new, All American jumped onto the scene because of quarantine. Season 1 premiered on the CW from October 2018-March 2019 and Season 2 doing the same from October 2019-March 2020. It became one of Netflix’s top ten most watched shows. Based off of a true story, South Crenshaw star wide receiver Spencer James (who is the fictional character based off of Spencer Paysinger) mysteriously chats with Beverley (Hills) High Head Coach Billy Baker about potentially playing for Beverley. What he doesn’t understand yet, though, is the history Billy and his mom had. Watch season one to find out the truth behind Spencer’s move to Beverley in an excellent based off of a true story show.

3.QB1:Beyond the Lights
The past three senior classes, Netflix has covered three high profile high school senior QBs during their senior year. Whether it be going to classes, trouble at home, or anything else, QB1 covers it all.

4.Last Chance U
Last Chance U has covered both JUCO powerhouse East Mississippi and switched to Independence Community College after two seasons. It covers the trials and tribulations of junior college football.

5.Friday Night Tykes
Friday Night Tykes covers what is known as the most dominant youth football league in the country. The Texas Youth Football Association or “TYFA” as it is more commonly known is one of the toughest leagues in the country. But the main reason is coaches, parents, officials, and referees make it more to seem that it is an adult’s game off the field rather than with the kids on the field.

First Arkansas Baseball game

With Arkansas’s 97th baseball season about to start on the 15th, we are hoping they can do as good as last year. We all want to forget about the easy to catch foul ball that we missed. They will be playing against the Eastern Illinois Panthers in Fayetteville. Ready to see Casey Martin to play. WOO PIG!!!
