Welcome to the Madden NFL, EA’s (Electronic Arts’s) top video game franchise since the shutdown of the NCAA Football game. Here are my top five fantasy running backs going into the 2019-2020 NFL season.

5.Alvin Kamara,New Orleans Saints
Kamara is dangerous both out of the backfield and in the slot. Kamara is a very productive player that will make you happy that you drafted him in your fantasy league.

4.Melvin Gordon,Los Angeles Chargers
Gordon has the second most rushing touchdowns over the past three seasons (Todd Gurley only has more). Despite being on contract holdout, if Gordon is playing, he will be a fantasy star again in 2019-2020.

3.Christian McCaffrey,Carolina Panthers
The former Stanford standout has continued his success in the NFL. McCaffrey has given QB Cam Newton another option in the passing game and has not let up running the football.

2.Saquon Barkley,New York Giants
These top two running backs are like 1A and 1B. Barkley led all NFL running backs in scrimmage yards in his rookie season and will be a fantasy star for years to come. Barkley is a young guy that will keep New York football watchable as he continues to grow as a player.

1.Ezekiel Elliott,Dallas Cowboys
Zeke became a pass target in 2018-19, being targeted ninety-five times last season. Elliott’s rushing numbers should improve from last season, making him the sure fire top back headed into the 2019-2020 season.

So, I’m back to my old schedule with a little twist. Most of the big moves in NBA Free Agency have been over for a long time. So most of the NBA posts will be turning into NFL/Fantasy Football posts. So today, I am going to rank the top five (my opinion) fantasy football quarterbacks in the NFL, headed into 2019-2020.

5.Baker Mayfield,Cleveland Browns
The big reason he’s here is because of the playmakers Mayfield has. Bringing in two former college standouts that have done great in the NFL in Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. If Mayfield can get it to those guys, some drafters may reach for Baker in the first few rounds.

4.Deshaun Watson,Houston Texans
I think the top four is pretty much its own tier. Watson had a historic rookie season in 2017-18 before getting hurt at the mid way point of the season. After getting back on his feet, Watson made it obvious that both his legs and throwing ability will make him a fantasy owner’s dream when they pick him.

3.Aaron Rodgers,Green Bay Packers
We know Rodgers is probably the most talented QB on this list. Now that Mike McCarthy is gone and Matt LaFleur is in, will Aaron be able to get back to the production that everyone knows he can get to? As long as Aaron is able to throw as much as he wants to, Rodgers will see a huge fantasy improvement in 2019.

2.Andrew Luck,Indianapolis Colts
Luck went on a terror in 2018 and made sure that people knew if he was healthy he is going to put up huge numbers. Luck should lead Indianapolis back into the playoffs and have huge numbers in 2019.

1.Patrick Mahomes,Kansas City Chiefs
Mahomes put up big fantasy numbers in his sophomore season. If he has top tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Tyreek Hill, Mahomes should have similar numbers or better in his third NFL season.

The Huskies will leave on July 1, 2020, and are required to pay an exit fee of $17 million by 2026. UConn is joining the Big East in all sports besides football, men’s and women’s ice hockey and rowing. The school said its football program will become an independent team beginning in the 2020 season.

LSU added in-state defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy to its 2020 class. Roy had been committed to coming to Baton Rouge in September of 2018 before decommitting in February of 2019. After taking multiple visits Roy cut his list down to Alabama, aforementioned LSU, and Texas A&M. Roy is the third ranked Louisiana prospect in the 2020 ESPN 300.

Top 2020 QB Haynes King chose Texas A&M, vaulting them into the top ten in ESPN’s 2020 Class Rankings. King, ranked number nineteen in the 2020 ESPN 300, chose Texas A&M over Auburn, Duke, and Tennessee.

Free agent center Tyson Chandler has agreed to a one-year deal with Houston Rockets.

Free agent big Tyler Lydon has agreed to a two-year deal with the Sacramento Kings.

Free agent forward Henry Ellenson is signing a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will release guard JR Smith Monday before his contract for next season becomes guaranteed and he will become a free agent.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Point Forward Ben Simmons have agreed to a five-year, $170 million max extension.

Free agent forward Reggie Bullock has signed a two-year, $8.2 million deal with the New York Knicks.

Free agent forward Cheick Diallo has agreed to a two-year deal with the Phoenix Suns.

Free agent guard Justin Holiday has agreed to a one-year, $4.8 million deal with the Indiana Pacers.

Free agent Kyle Korver has agreed to a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been awarded the rights to Kostas Antetokounmpo on a waiver claim.

Free agent forward Furkan Korkmaz has agreed to a two-year contract to return to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Free agent Pau Gasol has agreed to a one-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Free agent forward Dragan Bender has agreed to a two-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks.

1.Anthony Davis,PF/C,Los Angeles Lakers,Player Option
Davis will likely opt out of his player option next summer and get a long-term deal with the Lakers. It is unlikely Anthony Davis will be anywhere but LA in the next five to ten years.

2.DeMar DeRozan,SG/SF,San Antonio Spurs,Player Option
DeRozan has been successfull as a Spur but will he look to go back home to LA and join the Clippers or Lakers? Its either LA or staying in San Antonio for DeRozan.

3.Ben Simmons,PG/SF,Philadelphia 76ers,Restricted
Simmons and the 76ers are working towards a long-term deal. So likely, Simmons will not be in this pool of players next summer.

4.Draymond Green,PF,Golden State Warriors,Unrestricted
If Golden State lets Green walk, I predict Green will be gone. If they offer him a three or four year deal for over one hundred million dollars, Green will still be in San Francisco in 2020-21.

5.Andre Drummond,C,Detroit Pistons,Player Option
Drummond should look at his options out of Detroit because he could be a solid starter on a contender in either conference at center.

6.Pascal Siakam,PF,Toronto Raptors,Restricted
If Siakam gets big money elsewhere does Toronto match the offer? I don’t think so. While Siakam is an excellent defender, he is inefficient on offense and doesn’t have a perimeter shot.

7.Danilo Gallinari,SF,OKC Thunder,Unrestricted
Gallinari could be out of OKC as soon as the trade deadline after being dealt for Paul George as OKC looks to rebuild with young players and draft picks the LA Clippers sent them for Paul George.

8.Montrezl Harrell,PF/C,LA Clippers,Unrestricted
Harrell should have interest from multiple teams but LA should look to keep him.

9.Jaylen Brown,SG,Boston Celtics,Restricted
Brown will probably be retained by Boston as the free agency class in 2020 isn’t near as talented as it is this summer.

10.Gordon Hayward,SF,Boston Celtics,Player Option
Hayward will likely opt in to his big player option that Boston gave him in the summer of 2017.

Someone to think about:DeMarcus Cousins,C,LA Lakers,Unrestricted
Cousins could be a big help to the Lakers this upcoming season or he could be a no show. Cousins is coming off the worst basketball injury any player could have, so anything is possible for Cousins’s free agency in 2020.
