About Carter B. Huff Sports
Welcome to Carter B. Huff Sports, where passion for college athletics meets purpose-driven storytelling.
I’m Carter B. Huff, a sports blogger and aspiring athletics communications professional with nearly a decade of experience covering college football, basketball, baseball, the NBA, and the NFL. Since launching this blog in 2016, I’ve built it into a platform for in-depth analysis, game coverage, and thoughtful commentary, with a special focus on Arkansas Razorback athletics.
I am currently a student at the University of Arkansas, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Education in Recreation and Sport Management, with minors in Communication and Journalism. My academic work, combined with extensive hands-on experience, is intentionally geared toward a future in collegiate athletic communications.
My journey in sports media began with this blog and has grown into a series of impactful opportunities. In 2022, I attended the prestigious North Carolina Scholastic Media Association Sports Journalism Camp in Chapel Hill, where I sharpened my storytelling skills and completed multiple projects profiling the upcoming UNC men’s basketball team.
After enrolling at Arkansas, I became a contributing reporter for The Arkansas Traveler sports section, authoring multiple articles in the fall of 2024, including features on the 2025 Arkansas baseball schedule, the final chapter of COVID-19 era student-athletes, and Arkansas football’s upset over No. 4 Tennessee.
That work helped lead me into Arkansas Athletics Communications. I first volunteered at an Arkansas women’s basketball game against Oral Roberts in November 2024, then moved into more formal responsibilities. Under Associate Athletic Communications Director Oliver Grigg, I have worked from the press box at Razorback baseball games, written game recaps, and gained experience in press box operations, media coordination, and game-day communications.
In spring 2025, I interviewed for and was selected to join the Razorback Foundation Collegiate Board, a student group supporting day-to-day operations and special events. A year later, I was elected Secretary, taking responsibility for email correspondence with Collegiate Board members and contributing to the Board’s communications and engagement efforts.
Alongside these roles, I have continued to work a wide range of Arkansas athletic events—including football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics—as part of my Recreation and Sport Management Practicum Experience. In spring 2026, I began writing the weekly Razorback Report for the baseball program, published on the official Arkansas Razorbacks website, further solidifying my experience in sports information and event coverage.
My objective is to build a long-term career in collegiate athletics, especially in sports information and athletic communications, and ultimately to serve as an associate athletic director. Whether it’s in the press box, on the concourse, or behind the scenes, I am committed to bringing clarity, energy, and authenticity to every story I tell.
Thanks for being part of the journey—and welcome to Carter B. Huff Sports.
