Hey guys welcome back to college basketball news posts. I promise as both the college basketball (and college football) seasons approach, I will make more of these news posts. I also promise that I will finish up with the SEC college football previews before the start of August, with the Ole Miss preview being finished next. Then, I will make an update post.
On Thursday the Charlotte Sports Foundation announced a three-year deal with Jordan Brand to host the Jumpman Invitational, a holiday college basketball event featuring Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, and Oklahoma. The four schools were the first to sign with Jordan Brand. The inaugural event will be played December 20-21, 2022, and will feature both the men’s and women’s teams playing in one game per year.
The Hubert Davis era at North Carolina is hitting a stride. The Heels landed talented 6’11 Marquette transfer Dawson Garcia. Garcia announced his decision to withdraw from the 2021 NBA Draft and head to Chapel Hill in an Instagram post on Thursday. Familiarity is starting to resume in Chapel Hill as Garcia joins talented forward Armando Bacot to form one of the country’s most talented front courts.
