A busy July in college basketball (CBB News)

2023 five-star power forward GG Jackson announced his commitment to South Carolina and will enroll this fall to play this upcoming season. He surprised the college basketball media when he decommitted from North Carolina a few weeks ago. He is the first high school player to decommit from North Carolina since JR Smith in 2003.

2023 five-star small forward Justin Edwards announced his commitment to Kentucky. Edwards chose the wildcats over Tennessee, who were both vying for the talented wing over the last few months.

The 2022 PK85 announced and finalized its match-ups. North Carolina will face Portland, Villanova will face Iowa State, Connecticut will face Oregon, and Alabama will face Michigan State to open play on Thursday, November 24. The semifinals of the event will follow the next day, Friday November 25, and the finals will be two days later, on Sunday November 27. The consolation bracket will be played on Friday and Sunday as well. Alabama, Connecticut, Iowa State, Michigan State, North Carolina, and Villanova all appeared in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
