IWSTBBACS Rank: Ranking the top ten college football QBs going into the 2018-19 season (Link to podcast about this:https://soundcloud.com/user-425713703/soundcloud-ep-11who-are-the-top-ten-qbs-in-college-football-for-2018-19)

Here are my top ten quarterbacks in college football going into the 2018-19 season.

10.McKenzie Milton, Jr., UCF
Milton led UCF to an undefeated season in 2017,this shouldn’t surprise you.

9.Trace McSorley, Sr., Penn State
McSorley has always been in the shadow of star Running Back Saquon Barkley, but now that he is gone, it is McSorley’s opportunity to shine.

8.Justin Herbert, Jr., Oregon
Herbert is a mobile quarterback with potential to be the number one pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

7.Tua Tagovailoa, Soph., Alabama
From leading Alabama to a national championship in overtime against Georgia to his amazing passing and running ability, Tua is Nick Saban’s next great quarterback.

6.Jarrett Stidham, Sr., Auburn
The JUCO transfer brought great skills in his first year at Auburn and is looking to do the same as he heads into his senior season.

5.Jake Browning, Sr., Washington
Can Jake Browning lead Washington to the Playoff again? We will see with one of the most efficent quarterbacks in the country.

4.Jake Fromm, Soph., Georgia
Fromm has some competion with incoming five-star QB and number one ranked recruit Justin Fields but Fromm is a winner and will continue to do so in 2018-19.

3.Drew Lock, Sr., Missouri
Lock may be the best passer in the country and he does at such an efficient rate in the SEC.

2.Khalil Tate, Jr., Arizona
Tate lit up the Pac-12 with his dual-threat skills but Tate definitley has some underrated passing skills.

1.Will Grier, Sr., West Virginia
Grier is a guy who can stand in the pocket until the last second and make every pass imaginable. An injury cut his season short but he is likely to be back to full strength in 2018.

Bye SEC Country and the rest of its family websites! (For now)

One of my favorite websites to look at college sports news, SEC Country, will be off the internet for at least awhile, along with the family (ACC Diehards, Land of 10, Big 12 Diehards, and Pac-12 Diehards). Big shoutout to them over there and they’ve always been a big inspiration.I hope that y’all with come back stronger than ever!

Three former big-time recruits running out of time to live up to the hype (college football edition)

I just heard that the Spurs aren’t going to trade Kawhi to the west but make every team work for him and make an actual good deal or let him walk but I’m going to wait for NBA Free Agency to start and talk about that later. Today I’m going to talk about three former big-time college football recruits who are running out of time to live up to the hype. Also, I’m not including Blake Barnett in this because that is one of the more famous stories.

(These are in no order)

1.Byron Cowart, DE
What happened: The one player in the 2015 class signed with Auburn and saw early struggles on the field. Then he saw then-defensive coordinator Will Muschamp leave to be the head coach at South Carolina. Cowart had emergency appendectonomoy surgery before the season which cut it short. While he did have more than ten tackles that season he transferred to a junior college in Seffner, Florida near his hometown.

The opportunity: After his time in junior college he is now waiting to play this season with Maryland. He is highly praised by Maryland Head Coach D.J. Durkin. He now has two more years of eligibility left and is not in the shadow of his number one ranking anymore.

2.Keisean Lucier, LB/DE
What happened: Coming out of high school, Lucier was a long and athletic defensive end or linebacker in 2015. He signed with UCLA over schools like Michigan. Fans were very excited about his arrival. Lucier did not play his first season but then played all twelve games in 2016 on special teams. The next season he made eight starts. He was switched from defensive end to linebacker during that 2017 season in which had fifty-three tackles.

The Opportunity: Lucier now has a new coaching staff and a reset at UCLA and maybe he could succeed. He would be playing defensive end or hybrid linebacker and hoping to have success.

3.Malik Henry, QB
What happened: Henry was an outstanding dual-threat quarterback in the 2016 class. Malik eventually committed to Florida State, and enrolled early as a California native. He transferred after the season after he had been suspended for violating team rules but was reinstated eventually.

The Opportunity: Henry departed after one season so he still has most of his eligibility left. He went to Independence (Kansas) Community College and passed for 1,383 yards on 32 completions and ten touchdowns with eight interceptions in 2017. The window is closing for Henry but if he wants to play for an FBS team I think he can make it happen.

Thanks for reading this and I hope to make a part two to this.

Who should start for Georgia: Jake Fromm or Justin Fields?

Thank you to ESPN’s article: http://www.espn.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/22440336/georgia-bulldogs-clemson-tigers-lead-quarterback-future-power-rankings and FlemLo Raps, a YouTuber who just came up with a video similar to my blog post for the post idea.

Who will win Georgia’s Quarterback battle? Will it be Jake Fromm who led Georgia from a play way to win the National Championship or last season’s consensus number one overall high school football player in the country, Justin Fields a dual-threat with loads of potential? I mean why redshirt a guy with Fields’ talent? Jake Fromm has proven, though, that he is a winner. He took the starting job from a former five-star in Jacob Eason and then led the team to the National Championship, and almost won it.Justin Fields is one of the best athletes at the Quarterback position that we’ve seen at the high school level. Jake Fromm was the star of the first season of “QB1 Beyond the Lights” and Fields will be the star of season two. I mean, injuries could definitely happen and we have yet to see spring ball, so my pick is Jake Fromm who is a proven winner at the collegiate level.

Can Cam Akers rush for over 2,000 yards this season at Florida State?

I know guys. I haven’t blogged about college football in a while. Remember when I said that most of my posts would be about college football? Well, that’s changed. Change is common. It’s college basketball season but I thought I do a college football blog about once a week. No more questions of the day now that I’m blogging on just one website.

Cam Akers was a highly-touted five star athlete out of Mississippi. He could play anything from QB to running back and even defensive back sometimes. His best position though was running back and he chose Florida State over instate Ole Miss and various other power five programs. Cam Akers and the Seminoles were National Championship contenders and ranked number three in the nation to begin the season. That soon changed after 1.Alabama blew the numen-three ranked Seminoles out,24-7. Florida State QB Deondre Francois was knocked down hard during the game resulting in his Francois’ only season action. Francois was done for the season. After the season Head Coach Jimbo Fisher left for Texas A&M. This all leads up to Cam Akers who was expected to be a superstar in his first season in Tallahassee but that didn’t happen. He rushed for 1,024 yards. He was a star not a super-star. Can he rush for 2,000 yards? With Willie Taggart at the helm as the new Head Coach I think he can. Akers has the pieces around him to do it. Akers will be an NFL prospect for the 2020 NFL draft after having rushed for over two thousand five hundred yards this season. So essentially, is Cam Akers rushing for one hundred yards, over or under? Over.
