2019-2020 season best five games in the ACC
1.Clemson at. Syracuse
Clemson’s second ACC game is its toughest in conference play. Syracuse’s stingy defense and improving offense should make it tough for Trevor Lawrence and his receivers to make an impact but I still see Clemson breaking through and winning this game.

2.Virginia at. Miami
The winner of this game will likely go on to win the ACC Coastal. Manny Diaz looks to get to the ACC Championship in his first year in Coral Gables, and Virginia looks to get to their first ACC Championship overall.

3.Virginia Tech at. Virginia
Whoever wins this game will have a real shot to win the ACC coastal.

4.Wake Forest at. Syracuse
Similar to VTU-UVA, whoever wins this game will be Clemson’s real competitor in the ACC Atlantic.

5.Duke at. North Carolina
This could determine who goes to a bowl game between the two tobacco road rivals.

chsports 2019 NFC East Preview:Eagles, Cowboys will likely be on top of division again in 2019

Team on the Rise

Dallas Cowboys
Adding Amari Cooper was cool. Keeping Dak, Zeke, and the aforementioned Cooper together, we learned this August, is going to be the hard part. If Dallas keeps their nucleus together, keeps their talented offensive line together, and their excellent young linebacker core together, expect Dallas to be on the top of the NFC East in years to come.

Team on the Decline

New York Giants
The Giants have been on the decline, and this year isn’t going to be any different. Trading away OBJ for no new receiving talent was pretty bad. I mean, now QB Eli Manning has no expierience to throw to. And Manning may not even be the team’s starter through a week or two in the year. It could be the talented Duke product, Daniel Jones, who was coached by David Cutcliffe in Durham. Cutcliffe, coincidentally, was the head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers during Peyton’s (Manning) time in Knoxville, and Ole Miss’s Offensive Coordinator while Eli was in Oxford. I’m getting off topic, but if Daniel Jones can become half (or a quarter) of what Eli was, pairing him with star Running Back Saquon Barkley could really tear down the division in coming years.

Rookies to Watch
Dwayne Haskins,QB,Washington Redskins:The Redskins were smart in drafting Haskins out of Ohio State, and apparently he’s been very impressive during the off-season. Technically Case Keenum, who was traded to Washington, is slated to be the starter, but after a few weeks, the job could belong to Haskins.

Daniel Jones,QB,New York Giants
I’ve already mentioned Jones in this post but Jones could get the start in week two or New York could wait and give the job to him when the team needs a new leader in the middle of the season.

Player to Watch

Ezekiel Elliott,RB,Dallas Cowboys
The main question for Elliott isn’t on the field. It’s if he will get a deal done with Dallas before the season. If he doesn’t get paid, Zeke will holdout the entire season. But if Zeke comes to agreement with the Cowboys, Dallas should be with Philadelphia as the division favorites.

Projected Standings
1.Dallas Cowboys 10-6
2.Philadelphia Eagles 9-7
3.Washington Redskins 6-10
4.New York Giants 4-12

2020 SEC Football Schedule Notes

Yes-we are a year away from the 2020 College Football season but let’s take a look at the notes from the 2020 SEC Football Schedule.

Key Games from each week

Week 1 (September 5)
Alabama vs USC (Arlington,TX)
Ole Miss vs Baylor (Houston,TX)
Georgia vs Virginia (Atlanta,GA)

These are the only three major games in week one of the 2020 schedule as Alabama, Georgia, and Ole Miss look to get wins over major Power 5 squads.

Week 2 (September 12)
Arkansas at Notre Dame
Auburn vs North Carolina (Atlanta,GA)
Kentucky at Florida
Texas at LSU
Mississippi State at North Carolina State
Vanderbilt at Missouri
Tennessee at Oklahoma

In week two, the speed picks up for multiple SEC squads. Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, and Tennessee look to improve their records versus big time out of conference foes and Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt, and Missouri look to get a headstart on conference play.

Week 3 (September 19)
Georgia at Alabama
Auburn at Ole Miss
Arkansas at Mississippi State
Missouri at South Carolina
Colorado at Texas A&M

The headliner is Georgia heading to Tuscaloosa for the first time since 2007, which will likely be a game that ESPN’s College Gameday goes to. Key conference games for Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, and South Carolina will likely shape the early goings of 2020 SEC conference play. On another note, Colorado and Texas A&M will face off for the first time since both bolted from the Big 12 in the early 2010s.

Week 4 (September 26)
Texas A&M vs Arkansas (Arlington,TX)
South Carolina at Kentucky
Ole Miss at LSU
Florida at Tennessee

The headliners in week four are the annual Southwest Classic at AT&T Stadium between Arkansas and Texas A&M and Ole Miss heading to Death Valley to face LSU. Both games should shape the SEC’s west division in the early goings. Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee should all be teams that will be in the thick of things in the SEC’s east division.

Week 5 (October 3)
Kentucky at Auburn
South Carolina at Florida
Vanderbilt at Georgia
Alabama at Ole Miss
Texas A&M at Mississippi State
Missouri at Tennessee

October starts with a big conference weekend in the SEC. This should celitify the conference standings as October begins.

Week 6 (October 10)
Alabama at Arkansas
LSU at Florida
Auburn at Georgia
Missouri at BYU
Tennessee at South Carolina
Ole Miss at Vanderbilt

Three protected cross-division rivalries: LSU-Florida, Auburn-Georgia, and Ole Miss-Vanderbilt. This is the first time in forever that the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry (AUB-UGA) will be played in October setting up the SEC East for a tight finish at the end of the season. Missouri heading to BYU is an interesting out of conference game as we will see how the tigers can play out of conference without QB Kelly Bryant.

Week 7 (October 17)
Mississippi State at Alabama
LSU at Arkansas
Texas A&M at Auburn
Vanderbilt at Kentucky
Florida at Ole Miss
Georgia at Missouri

Arkansas and LSU will face off to find out the winner of the Golden Boot in a big week of conference games.

Week 8 (October 24)
Mississippi State at LSU
Kentucky at Missouri
Alabama at Tennessee

The cross-divisional rivalry between Alabama and Tennessee should be a treat from Neyland Stadium as Mississippi State, LSU, Missouri, and Kentucky look to get to bowl games.

Week 9 (October 31)
Tennessee at Arkansas
Florida vs. Georgia (Jacksonville)
Auburn at Mississippi State
South Carolina at Vanderbilt

Halloween will give us a small slate of conference games but Florida and Georgia will face off as the headliner of the week. So, if you need to plan anything big, this is the week to plan it.

Week 10 (November 7)
Arkansas at Auburn
Alabama at LSU
Missouri at Mississippi State
Georgia at South Carolina
Kentucky at Tennessee
Ole Miss at Texas A&M
Florida at Vanderbilt

Alabama and LSU will likely meet to find out who will have the upper hand in the SEC West as November begins. While there are a ton of conference games, the top teams just need to win these games, as most are irrelevant.

Week 11 (November 14)
Ole Miss at Arkansas
Missouri at Florida
Tennessee at Georgia
Mississippi State at Kentucky
South Carolina at LSU
Vanderbilt at Texas A&M

Ole Miss-Arkansas, Mississippi State-Kentucky headline another big week of conference play as some bottom dwellerrs of the conference look to get into bowl games.

Week 12 (November 21)
Texas A&M at Alabama
LSU at Auburn
Georgia at Kentucky

Auburn and Alabama will play conference foes the week before the Iron Bowl for the first time since 2008. Most likely, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Texas A&M will determine the pecking order in the SEC West.

Week 13 (November 26,28)
Mississippi State at Ole Miss
Auburn at Alabama
Florida at Florida State
Georgia Tech at Georgia
Kentucky at Louisville
Arkansas at Missouri
South Carolina at Clemson
LSU at Texas A&M
Tennessee at Vanderbilt

Obviously it is rivalry week and the two winners of each division will (if have not have been) decided on who will go to the SEC Championship game.

cbhsports 2019 AFC East Preview:Brady, Patriots should still be on top of the division but the Jets should be competitive

Here is my first NFL Divisional Preview (AFC East).

Team on the Rise

New York Jets
The only way to go is up after a 4-12 season. New York adds former All-Pro tailback Le’Veon Bell and Linebacker CJ Moseley to a big group of youngsters headlined by second year QB Sam Darnold. The Jets should be New England’s biggest competitor in 2019, as Bell looks to add more talent to the team next summer.

Team on the Decline

Miami Dolphins
Miami was the only team to beat New England last season but ironically, Brian Flores (formerly of the Patriots), comes in and looks to use QB duo Josh Rosen and Ryan Fitzpatrick to the best of the ability. Again, the only way to go is up in South Beach.

Rookie to Watch

Quinnen Williams,DT,New York Jets
Williams was very productive in Nick Saban’s defense at Alabama so why can’t he be at the next level for Adam Gase’s d? Williams is an excellent pass rusher that will help New York challenge New England for an AFC East title.

Player to Watch

Julian Edelman,WR,New England Patriots
2019’s Super Bowl MVP will return as Tom Brady’s top target but he’ll have some help even after All-Pro Tight End Rob Gronkowski retired. New England drafted Arizona State standout N’Keal Harry to pair with Edelman in the receiver room so watch out for this New England receiving core in 2019.

Projected Standings
1.New England Patriots 11-5
2.New York Jets 8-8
3.Buffalo Bills 8-8
4.Miami Dolphins 4-12
